A group of 200 Indian guests from Cryptriva Group has been in Ho Chi Minh City since Sunday, marking the beginning of MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions) tourism in the southern metropolis this year. 

The group was set to depart on Wednesday.

Their arrival is expected to contribute to fulfilling the city’s goal of serving 8.5 million international travelers in 2025. 

According to the municipal Department of Tourism, the city has set strategic plans to boost its tourism sector, with MICE tourism being one of the key drivers.

As the first MICE delegation to have visited the city this year, the group, led by Pattiyil Aneesh, director of Cryptriva’s South India branch, was arranged to attend conferences and explore multiple iconic tourist attractions.

Their itinerary included the Independence Palace, Saigon Central Post Office, Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica of Saigon, Municipal Theater, Cu Chi Tunnels, and Ben Thanh Market.

Apart from experiencing a nighttime city tour on a double-decker bus, these visitors embarked on a Mekong Delta tour in My Tho City, Tien Giang Province, and savored various Vietnamese and Indian dishes at some renowned restaurants.

At a reception ceremony for the delegation on Tuesday, Nguyen Tran Tam Ha, deputy director of the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Promotion Center, expressed her pleasure in hosting these Indian tourists and praised the city’s continuous efforts to enhance its services.

“Ho Chi Minh City is constantly improving its service quality and reinforcing its position as one of Vietnam’s top tourist destinations," she underlined.

“The city is a vibrant hub that blends modernity with unique cultural values, treating tourists to unforgettable experiences."

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism is optimistic about the continued growth of the sector in 2025, positioning the city as one of Asia’s leading MICE and tourist destinations.

In 2024, Ho Chi Minh City secured several prestigious international awards, including accolades for ‘Asia’s Leading Business Travel Destination,’ ‘Asia’s Leading Festival & Event Destination,’ ‘Asia’s Leading City Tourist Board,’ ‘Asia’s Best Incentive Destination,’ and ‘Asia’s Best MICE Tradeshow.’

The city was also recognized by American travel magazine Condé Nast Traveler as one of the ‘Top 25 Must-Visit Destinations in 2025.’
