The Hanoi Department of Tourism announced on Monday afternoon the organization of a tourism golf week at five different golf courses next month.

The venues include Dong Mo, Legend Hill, Minh Tri, Sky Lake, and Long Bien golf courses in Son Tay Town, Soc Son District, Chuong My District, and Long Bien District, director of the department Dang Huong Giang said during a working session with President of the World Travel Awards (WTA) Graham Cooke on the same afternoon.

Co-hosted by the Vietnam Golf Tourism Association, the municipal tourism department, and the municipal Department of Culture and Sports, the event is expected to attract numerous golfers at home and abroad.

Cooke said in order to host the event, the city’s infrastructure must meet requirements such as being a promising destination for international golf tourism development and golf courses being qualified for professional tournaments and close to world-class lodging facilities as well as well-known tourism landmarks.

In response, Giang affirmed that with its own advantages, Hanoi has met all criteria for hosting the event.

Apart from a tournament, the event is also meant to promote Hanoi’s luxury tourism and entertainment services to foreigners, especially wealthy visitors.

She also suggested the WTA continue assisting Hanoi in promoting the ‘Asia’s Leading City Break Destination 2022’ award that the Vietnamese capital city just received on September 7 to create a brand identity for its tourism.
