A fruit festival will kick off in Ninh Son District in Ninh Thuan Province, south-central Vietnam for the first time on June 16 in an attempt to woo local and international tourists.
The two-day fruit fest will be held along a section of Anh Dung Street in Tay Son Town by the Ninh Son District administration in collaboration with Charm Group.
As part of a series of unique and attractive sport, cultural and tourism activities in the province to respond to UNESCO’s recognition of the pottery art of Vietnam’s Cham ethnic group as intangible cultural heritage in need of urgent protection, the fest is expected to delight visitors with a variety of local fruits.
A ceremony to receive the UNESCO certificate and the Ninh Thuan Grape – Wine Festival 2023 will be organized between June 13 and 18.
To introduce the fruit-growing hub in Ninh Thuan Province, Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper will team up with the Ninh Son District People’s Committee to hold a seminar themed “Ninh Son – Land for Growth” on Sunday before these aforementioned events take place.
Ninh Son District, which boasts abundant land resources, strong irrigation systems and favorable weather conditions, is seen potential for agricultural development.

Over the past few years, the district has focused on developing fruit farms, orchid gardens, apple gardens and cantaloupe farms to serve both agriculture demands and tourism activities, moving toward sustainable ecotourism development.
To back the district’s plan, the seminar is set to center on the district’s strengths, advantages, and potential; and orientation for agricultural growth in combination with tourism.
The seminar will be attended by Kieu Tan Thinh, chairman of the People’s Committee of Ninh Son District under Ninh Thuan Province; Duong Dang Minh, head of the district’s Agriculture and Rural Development division; Thai Quang Man, vice chairman of the Lam Son Commune administration; and Nguyen Thanh Tu, vice chairman of the Nhon Son Commune administration.
The seminar will be broadcast on the Tuoi Tre website (tuoitre.vn) at 10:00 am on Sunday.
