Tourism authorities in Khanh Hoa and Dak Lak, two provinces located in Vietnam’s south-central and Central Highlands regions, respectively, have collaborated to offer forest and beach tourism services in an eco-friendly and safe manner in the years to come.

Their cooperation was unveiled at a tourism-themed conference co-hosted by the Khanh Hoa Tourism Department and the Dak Lak Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism on Friday morning.

At the event, both sides discussed plans to establish cooperation in the tourism sector during the 2023-25 period.

The two provinces boast a number of ideal factors for nature-based tourism collaboration, including their unique cultural identities, various festivals, and a wide selection of tourism products, according to leaders of the two tourism authorities.

Khanh Hoa is home to magnificent and sun-drenched beaches plus luxury resorts of international standards, while Dak Lak has considerable advantages in terms of forest tourism, in addition to well-known waterfalls, lakes, majestic landscapes, and poetic ancient forests.

The two provinces also developed other complementary tourism products such as entertainment, community, adventure, cultural and spiritual tourism.

They are also connected by an adequate transportation system, including the under-construction Nha Trang-Buon Ma Thuot Expressway, thereby contributing to the tourism development in the area.

To fully tap the tourism potential in the two localities, Hoang Van Vinh, chairman of the Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa Tourism Association, underlined the need to improve the quality of tourism products and services, and maintain efforts to sign more cooperation agreements to offer special deals to woo visitors.

He also suggested tourism operators should actively work with the tourism authorities to study and launch beach resort and forest tourism tours to the two provinces.

Data from the Khanh Hoa Tourism Department revealed that this south-central coastal province served over four million visitors with overnight stays during the first seven months of this year, up 175.5 percent year on year and meeting 100 percent of the province’s target.

Of the total, international visitors accounted for more than 995,000.

The tourism sector in Khanh Hoa earned over VND19 trillion (US$797.6 million) in the given period, soaring over 148 percent against the same period last year and reaching 90.7 percent of its target.
