An Giang Province in Vietnam's Mekong Delta region will roll out an off-road motorcycle race for the first time and the Bay Nui (Seven Mountain) Cow Racing Festival this month.
These activities are aimed at celebrating the Sene Dolta festival, one of the most important religious events for Khmer ethnic people every year, heard a press briefing held by the People’s Committee of Tri Ton District under the province on Tuesday.
The off-road motorcycle race will take place in the Ta Pa - Soai Chek Sports and Tourism Area in Nui To Commune on Saturday, featuring the participation of some 60 off-road bikers.
Nguyen Xuan Bang, deputy head of the An Giang Radio and Television Station, said that the off-road motorcycle race will attract several professional bikers who competed in international racing.
The race is expected to draw crowds of visitors to the province.
Meanwhile, the 28th cow racing fest will kick off on Saturday next week.
As many as 56 pairs of cows will be selected for the race.
Among them, 26 of the pairs come from Tri Ton District in An Giang Province, while the rest will be brought to the competition by Giang Thanh District under neighboring Kien Giang Province.
Besides, Tri Ton District will welcome visitors with a show of 30 drones equipped with smoke generators and a series of art performances.
