The Vietnamese edition of ‘The Harry Potter Wizarding Almanac,’ an illustrated, official companion book to the Harry Potter series, is set to hit the shelves in Vietnam on October 10.

Tre (Youth) Publishing House, which owns the copyrights for the novel series in Vietnam, has collaborated with global publishers to bring ‘The Harry Potter Wizarding Almanac’ to Vietnam.

The entire printing process took place overseas.

The Vietnamese edition of the book will be released concurrently with translations in over 30 other languages.

The creators of the 200-page, seven-chapter book, describe it as visual encyclopedia of the magical universe.

The publication provides readers with the opportunity to discover magical places, study wandlore, encounter fantastic beasts, and learn about famous witches and wizards.

It features illustrations by seven artists from around the world, including Peter Goes, Louise Lockhart, Weitong Mai, Olia Muza, Levi Pinfold, Tomislav Tomic, and Vietnam’s Pham Quang Phuc.

Phuc’s involvement represents the first time a Vietnamese artist has participated in such a large-scale book project.

The Vietnamese illustrator, together with Hoang Ngoc Doan Trang, won the ASEAN Children’s Book Illustrator Best in Fiction award at the 2018 ASEAN Illustration Awards.

An ardent admirer of the Harry Potter series, Phuc shared that he considers it a tremendous privilege to be involved in the illustration and cover design of ‘The Harry Potter Wizarding Almanac’ project.

Making its debut 26 years ago, the Harry Potter series is a longtime favorite among young Vietnamese readers.
