Many young people picked up trash around Cai Rang Floating Market, a popular destination in Can Tho City, southern Vietnam, on Sunday, leaving a good impression on foreign tourists and local traders.
The municipal youth union coordinated with the administration of Cai Rang District, where the floating market is nestled, to launch a program to call for locals’ acts to keep the city green, clean, beautiful, and safe.
The program included collecting and classifying garbage surrounding Cai Rang Floating Market, removing paper advertisements in Le Binh Ward, Cai Rang District, and planting trees in Phu Thu Ward, also in Cai Rang District.

Chairman of the People’s Committee of Cai Rang District Nguyen Quoc Cuong said the program was aimed at calling on residents to jointly protect the environment, develop the habit of stopping littering, and bolster the classification and recycling of waste.
This was also an occasion for the youth in Can Tho to devote themselves to social work to keep the environment clean, Cuong added.
