A doodle-art drawing composed of 22 pieces symbolizing the culture and tourism of Thu Duc City and 21 districts in Ho Chi Minh City has set a record for the largest of its kind in Vietnam.
The Vietnam Records Organization announced the recognition of the artwork as ‘the biggest doodle drawing about tourism in Vietnam’ during the closing ceremony of the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Week held in front of the Saigon Central Post Office in District 1 on Sunday night.
The Tourism Week commenced on December 4.
The drawing measuring 3x22 meters took 80 hours to complete.
Twenty-five artists doodled the city’s cultural features and tourist attractions, while 2,500 residents and tourists painted the drawing.
The collaborative drawing contributes to enhancing the image of Ho Chi Minh City as an appealing tourist destination with various fascinating sites.
Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, director of the municipal Department of Tourism, said that the recognition of the doodle-art drawing marked the successful collaboration of 2,500 dwellers and tourists in the city.

Ho Chi Minh City people, renowned for their remarkable hospitality and generosity, are also beautifully captured in the artwork.
These artistic doodles, a manifestation of the creators' passion for both art and the city, convey a powerful message of reverence, preservation, and promotion of the cultural, culinary, and historical richness found in Thu Duc City and the 21 districts spanning the southern metropolis.
Engaging with Ho Chi Minh City through doodle art during this year's tourism week significantly contributed to the promotion of the city's tourism brand, captivating both residents and visitors alike.
Statistics from the municipal department indicated that the third edition of the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Week attracted 71,000 travelers.
Ho Chi Minh City's tourism industry has experienced a significant surge, with room occupancy reaching an impressive 80 percent over the past week.
Participating travel firms have reported a substantial increase in revenue, further solidifying the success of the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Week 2023.
This year's edition saw an unprecedented number of ambassadors, with a total of 120 individuals representing the city's diverse tourism offerings.
The figure surpasses all previous editions of the Tourism Week, marking a new milestone for the city.
