The Japan Vietnam Festival will be organized in Ho Chi Minh City this weekend with a wide range of exciting activities.

Now in its ninth year, this event strives to showcase and celebrate the rich cultures of both nations, while also fostering and enhancing the overall friendship between Japan and Vietnam, with a particular focus on Ho Chi Minh City.

The primary highlights of the two-day festival include trade, culinary, and tourism exchange programs, initiatives to promote Vietnamese-Japanese products, and captivating art performances featuring talented artists from both Vietnam and Japan.

Japanese groups PSYCHIC FEVER and BALLISTIK BOYZ are expected to perform at the festival, alongside Vietnamese performers.

This year's festival is set to introduce a new snow area, aimed at captivating the interest of young visitors.

The Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association in Ho Chi Minh City is actively participating in the event, presenting traditional Vietnamese ao dai performances, Vietnamese-Japanese folk music, and Japanese yosakoi dance performances on the festival stage.

The association will also engage with attendees through booths featuring Vietnamese and Japanese poetry, Japanese tea ceremonies, the intricate art of paper folding origami, traditional Japanese folk games, and the delicate craftsmanship of Japanese Tsumami-zaiku flowers.

It will have booths featuring Vietnamese ao dai, Vietnamese lotus tea, Vietnamese folk games, and exhibitions of Vietnam-Japan friendship activities.

The ninth Japan Vietnam Festival takes place on Saturday and Sunday at 23/9 Park in District 1.

Last year, the event, in its eighth edition, was a big celebration as it honored the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan and attracted 485,000 festival-goers.

The two-day festival also took place at 23/9 Park and gathered around 150 booths boasting the two countries’ tourism, local specialties, cuisine, culture, education, music, sports, and technology.
