South Korean actor and singer Kim Jae Joong held a press conference in Ho Chi Minh City on Friday evening before his inaugural fan concert in Vietnam, the J-Party Fan Concert I’m Twenty.
The fan concert, marking Kim’s 20th anniversary in the entertainment industry, will be held at the Military Zone 7 Gymnasium on Hoang Van Thu Street, Phu Nhuan District, Ho Chi Minh City on Saturday night.
This event is part of a series of concerts and fan meetings spanning multiple destinations including Vietnam, Australia, Taiwan, and Macau.
It will feature exchanges, talk shows, and a performance of over 20 songs.
The fan concert aims to compensate for last year’s disappointment when Kim was scheduled to perform at the 'K-pop Open Air #2 Christmas show' in Hanoi, which was abruptly canceled a few days before the showtime, leaving fans and artists confused.

Kim then publicly stated his decision not to participate due to the organizers’ failure to fulfill contractual agreements and reassured fans via social media.
However, K-pop fans have yet to receive adequate compensation for the incident.
At Friday’s conference, Kim expressed hope that fans attending the fan concert will find joy and promised to release a new album next year and include Vietnam in his potential tour.
Born in 1986, Kim was the main vocalist of the legendary five-member South Korean boy band DBSK during the second generation of K-pop, which started around 2001 and ended in 2011.

Following a contract conflict with the group’s management company, SM Entertainment, Kim, along with bandmates Kim Jun Su and Park Yoo Chun, left the agency and DBSK to form their own group, JYJ, in 2009.
Kim Jae Joong expanded his entertainment career into acting in 2012.
For several years, he is South Korea’s richest K-pop idol, boasting an estimated net worth of US$100 million, South China Morning Post reported in September 2020.
This visit to Vietnam is not his first as he has previously performed here with both JYJ and as a solo artist at various music events.
