The Nha Trang International Light Bay Festival, Vietnam’s first international drone light show contest, opened in the namesake city in Khanh Hoa Province, south-central Vietnam on Saturday evening, featuring the competition titled 'Glamor Nha Trang' between teams from South Korea and China.
The festival opened at the Hai Thang Tu Square with the theme 'Brilliant Galaxy.'
The South Korean team chose the topic of 'Nha Trang - World’s Beautiful Bay' to prove its strengths in firebending drones.
The Chinese team’s performance, themed 'Khanh Hoa - Future City,' was also a feast for the eyes.
Drones formed the shapes of high-rise buildings on the shore of Nha Trang Bay, dolphins, and Cam Ranh International Airport, among others.

Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Ho Anh Phong voiced his wish that the festival would contribute to boosting the tourism, economic, and cultural development in Khanh Hoa Province.
“The Nha Trang International Light Bay Festival is a practical and meaningful activity," Phong said.
“With the participation of artists, lighting designers, and art delegations from many countries, I do believe this year’s festival will bring fantastic experiences as well as impressive and memorable moments to everyone."
Le Thao Trang, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City, said her family arrived at the square at 5:00 pm, while the program began at 8:00 pm.
She hoped Nha Trang would maintain the festival to make it a signature of the coastal city.
The images formed by drones in the sky were impressive, said Christian Nuse, a traveler from Poland, adding that the drones forming fireworks and the phrase 'Wonderful Nha Trang' impressed him the most.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the festival, vice-chairman of the administration in Khanh Hoa Province Dinh Van Thieu said the fest was held for the first time in Nha Trang, attracting four teams from South Korea, France, China, and the United Arab Emirates.
Each team displays at least 1,000 drones.
Khanh Hoa hopes to build its festival brand, contributing to fostering its socio-economic development and cooperation, the official added.
The drone light festival is slated to take place on July 13 and 20, with the competition between France and the United Arab Emirates, themed 'Night of the Wonders,' scheduled for July 20.
