Vietnam and India are for the first time collaborating on a film project titled 'Tinh Yeu Viet Nam' (Love for Vietnam), according to Indian Consul General Madan Mohan Sethi.

He announced the news at the opening ceremony of the Namaste Vietnam 2024 Festival in Ho Chi Minh City on Sunday.

The annual festival, which runs from August 25 to 31, spans three locations: Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang City in Khanh Hoa Province, and Da Lat City in Lam Dong Province.

The festival, co-organized by the Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City, the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations, and the Vietnam-India Friendship Association (VIFA), aims to strengthen ties between the two nations through a series of events focused on trade, tourism, education, film, and cultural exchange.

During the opening ceremony at the Rex Hotel in District 1, Consul General Sethi shared that the upcoming film will explore the love story between an Indian man and a Vietnamese woman.

The movie is set to be filmed in various scenic locations across Vietnam, including Da Lat, Da Nang City, and Quang Nam Province.

The film will also highlight distinctive aspects of Vietnamese culture, cuisine, art, and the people, Sethi revealed.
