Tours to Bay Mau Nipa Palm Forest in Hoi An City, home to UNESCO-recognized Hoi An Ancient Town in Quang Nam Province, central Vietnam, will be launched for European holidaymakers, an official said on Tuesday.

Nguyen The Hung, vice-chairman of the Hoi An City People’s Committee, said that the local administration had conducted an on-site survey at the nipa palm forest to prepare for the opening of exploration tours.

These tours are expected to delight tourists who love riverine ecotourism.

The tours will target visitors from European nations, he underlined.

Taking a trip, tourists will be brought to the primeval nipa palm forest lying near the Thu Bon River to explore unspoiled landscapes.

These breathtaking tours will be launched this year once certain components, such as dredging river passages, constructing harbors, and establishing craft performance sites, are completed.

Bay Mau, or Cam Thanh, Nipa Palm Forest is a unique forest which spans some 300 hectares of land in Cam Thanh Commune, four kilometers from Hoi An Ancient Town.

The forest sprawls in the buffer zone of the Cu Lao Cham-Hoi An World Biosphere Reserve.

It not only acts as a habitat for shrimp and fish, but also serves as a valuable protection forest in the province.

Opened to the public in 2017, the forest welcomes over 3,000 guests each day.
