Friday, October 07, 2016, 19:07 GMT+7

The India’s Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC), Ho Chi Minh City Computer Association and Consulate General of India have co-organized an information technology (IT) industry meeting between the two countries’ IT businesses.

Held on Wednesday, the seminar-cum-business-to-business (B2B) meeting called “India Vietnam: IT Industry Meet” was attended by a delegation of 13 Indian software companies under ESC along with Vietnamese IT entrepreneurs.

The representatives of the two countries said that they will keep focusing on breaking new grounds of cooperation and joint ventures in the IT sector and the software industry as parts of increasing bilateral trade and comprehensive development between India and Vietnam.

ESC will be organizing the 17th edition of its exclusive global networking event in IT sector, called ‘INDIASOFT -2017’ at Hyderabad, India on February 13 and 14, 2017. Invited Vietnamese companies are expected to participate in the event.

ESC has around 2,300 member companies and is India’s premier organization promoting electronics and IT exports to the global market.

Lots of major Indian businesses that run IT and information technology enabled services (ITES) are listed in the Fortune 500 of the Fortune Magazine by the NY-based publishing company Time Inc. and the annual public company ranking Forbes’s Global 2,000.

India continues to maintain leadership position in the global sourcing arena, accounting for almost 56 per cent of the global sourcing market size in 2016 as compared to 52 per cent in 2012, according to the India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
