A wide selection of products from 17 Vietnamese provinces and cities as well as from Cambodia are being showcased at an ongoing trade fair in An Giang Province, southern Vietnam, with the aim of promoting trade ties between the two countries.
The trade fair, co-held by the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade and the An Giang People’s Committee, kicked off on Tuesday evening in the province’s Tinh Bien Town, gathering more than 200 exhibitors and officials from Vietnamese and Cambodian localities.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the event, Tran Anh Thu, vice-chairman of the An Giang administration, said this is the 14th edition of the trade show and is part of the ministry’s trade promotion program for 2023.
This year’s trade fair is expected to revitalize a trade promotion plan between Vietnam and Cambodia post-pandemic.
“Given the friendship and partnership between An Giang and the Cambodian province of Takeo, I believe that participating businesses will sign multiple trade promotion contracts at this trade fair,” Thu said.
At the event, Vietnamese and Cambodian exhibitors mostly display a variety of agro-fishery products, consumer goods, local specialties, and items for promoting tourism, while calling for investment.
The event paves the way for enterprises as well as cooperatives from other Vietnamese provinces and cities to expand their business in An Giang, approach the Cambodian market, and seek potential trade partners.
The trade fair is scheduled to take place from Tuesday to next Monday at Xuan To Industrial Park in Tinh Bien.
