The Cashless Day Festival kicked off on Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City late on Friday, enabling visitors to experience new payment services, enhance their cybersecurity skills for online payments, and receive plenty of awesome gifts.

Here are some pavilions recommended by Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper that festival-goers should not miss out on.

During the three-day festival, Ho Chi Minh City Development Joint Stock Commercial Bank (HDBank) offers bank account opening services and gifts to customers at its pavilion.

On Saturday, HDBank will host a live streaming session at the booth to assist customers with opening bank accounts.

The HDBank booth also features special offers, presenting lucky money worth VND100,000 (US$4) to each new account holder via the HDBank app, in addition to many other presents such as backpacks, raincoats, umbrellas, and thermal bottles.

Stopping by the booth run by Nam A Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Nam A Bank), visitors will be briefed on the lender’s products, services, and technology, as well as take part in interactive mini games with a wide selection of cool gifts.

Tien Phong Commercial Joint Stock Bank (TPBank) offers a cashless payment experience via its mobile app and the TPBank Visa Flash2in1 card, which integrates credit cards and ATM cards in the same chip.

Customers can get personalized bank cards from TPBank by having their photos added to the cards.

JCB, Japan’s international payment brand, brings a vast array of gifts such as JCB-branded tote bags, pens, and keychains to the event.

E-wallet service operator MoMo is set to introduce its Face Payment technology and offer thousands of presents at its booth.

MoMo says that the Face Payment technology is one of the most popular cashless payment methods at present, employing AI-powered biometrics to ensure safe and secure online payments.

Visitors with MoMo accounts can conduct seamless procedures for facial authentication to verify their identity while using the MoMo app.

After experiencing MoMo technologies and services, visitors will also get a variety of presents from the e-wallet operator, such as Cashless Day stickers, tote bags, soft drinks, and thousands of food and beverage vouchers.

Those who want to enhance their cybersecurity skills should not forget to come to the booth operated by giant tech firm FPT, where they can learn more about tips to detect fake websites of banks and unsecure links.

With the theme ‘Promoting the Development of Safe Cashless Payments,' the 2024 Cashless Day Festival is among a series of events supporting the 2024 Cashless Day (June 16), gathering commercial banks, ecommerce companies, intermediary payment service providers, businesses majoring in fashion, food, consumer products, and utility firms.

The initiative is spearheaded by Tuoi Tre in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade and the Payment Department of the State Bank of Vietnam.
