A slogan-making contest to celebrate diplomatic relations between Australia and Vietnam has kicked off this week.
Titled “Composing a slogan celebrating 40 years of Australia – Vietnam diplomatic relations,” the competition is organized by the Vietnam - Australia Society English Center under the approval of the Union of Friendship Organizations, the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam – Australia Friendship Association, and the HCMC Youth Union’s Center of Science and Technology Development, with support from the Australian Consulate-General to HCMC.
The contest is open for Vietnamese nationals aged from 16 to 25 who can register online at https://www.facebook.com/HoiVietUc.
Entries, consisting of an up to 10 word slogan and a writing piece explaining it, both in English, with content supporting relations between the two countries, must be submitted by 5pm on June 25.
Contestants who make it to the final round have to deliver an up to 10-minute presentation for their slogans and then answer questions from the contest’s jury for 5 minutes. The final round will take place at 8pm on July 20 at the Friendship House, 31 Le Duan Street, District 1.
The winner will receive a VND150 million (US$7,000) scholarship for a one-month English course in Australia and have a chance to meet the Australian Consul General at the Australian General Consulate to HCMC.
