Traditional Korean music band Ensemble Sinawi will join Vietnamese artists of Bong Sen Traditional of Music and Dance Theater to perform for free in Ho Chi Minh City this month.

Titled “Into the time,” the event to be held by the Korean Association in HCMC aims to create another aspect of South Korean culture through traditional music besides movies and pop music which have gained popularity among Vietnamese audiences in recent years.

Ensemble SINAWI consists of six members specializing in piano, Korean traditional string instruments like Gayageum and Ajaeng, Daegeuma, large bamboo transverse flute and Jangoo, a Korean traditional drum.

Besides Korean folk songs, the troupe will also perform Vietnamese folk song “Cay Truc Xinh” (Beautiful bamboo tree) with traditional Vietnamese and Korean musical instruments.

The concert will take place at the HCMC Conservatory of Music at 7pm on June 13.

Free tickets can be accessed via email at IntoTheTimeSaigon@gmail.com.
