Vietnamese premier arrives in South Korea for official visit

Vietnam’s Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his spouse Le Thi Bich Tran, along with their entourage, arrived in Seoul on Sunday afternoon for a four-day official visit to South Korea until July 3 at the invitation of his South Korean counterpart Han Duck Soo and his spouse.

The plane transporting the Vietnamese government leader and other top officials landed at Seongnam Seoul Air Base at 2:30 pm.

Welcoming the Vietnamese delegation at the air base were Minister of SMEs and Startups Oh Young-Ju, South Korean Ambassador in Vietnam Choi Young-sam, Seo Won-sam, Director-General for Protocol Affairs at the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Kim Dong-bae, Director-General for ASEAN and Southeast Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

PM Chinh and his spouse were also greeted by Vietnamese Ambassador to South Korea Vu Ho, staff at the Vietnamese Embassy, and representatives of the Vietnamese community in the country. 

A welcome ceremony was organized at the air base for PM Chinh and his spouse, as well as the Vietnamese delegation.

During the South Korea visit, PM Chinh will participate in over 30 activities, according to Permanent Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Vu.

The Vietnamese government leader will have important meetings with senior South Korean leaders, and attend the Korea-Vietnam Business Forum, and other forums on tourism, culture and labor.

The Vietnamese prime minister will also join seminars on economic, semiconductor and artificial intelligence aspects.

Also, PM Chinh will receive executives of several South Korean economic groups, visit the Vietnamese Embassy, and meet some Vietnamese in South Korea.

In addition, he was set to visit Samsung’s semiconductor production plant. 

The visit is expected to further deepen the multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.
