On September 12, around 15 students from America’s Hobart William Smith and Union colleges made traditional Vietnamese lanterns which were donated to 30 orphan children at Tinh That Linh Son pagoda in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 12 on the occasion of the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival (the 15th day of the eighth lunar month).
At the event, the students expressed their excitement over making the lanterns for the very first time. Some of them admitted that it was harder than they had imagined, while others said they spent a lot of time perfecting their lanterns since they want them to be nice gifts for the children.
