Tre Publishing House will showcase a number of notable Vietnamese writers and their works at Korea’s 8th Paju Bookcity Forum, which opens today, Oct 1.

The Vietnamese publisher Tre Publishing House has been selected as one of the seven representatives from several Asian countries including Japan, China, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand to deliver a speech on Asian publication at the forum.

At this year’s forum, entitled “Asia, Beyond the Boundary: Network with Books”, the director of Tre Publishing House will present several of the country’s successful, prolific authors, such as Ho Anh Thai, Nguyen Nhat Anh and Nguyen Ngoc Tu.

One of the most influential forums among Korean publishers, it now has a membership of around 300, most of whom are representatives from Korean publishers or journalists and writers. The forum aims to garner information on the global book publishing market and build strategies for the Korean publishing industry.

The forum is put on by the Seoul-based Bookcity Culture Foundation, which was founded in 2003 and is sponsored by the Korea Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. A non-profit organization, the foundation boasts diverse international exchange and learning activities at Paru Bookcity. The 1.5mil-m2 city is Korea’s publishing hub, with some 400 local publishers and companies operating in fields related to publishing.
