Hoang Minh Ha, winner of the 2013 Vietnamese version of “Project Runway”, is the only local designer to be selected for the fashion show “Grown in Australia, made in Vietnam”, which showcases latest woolen fiber fabric designs.

Ha was picked by Australia’s Woolmark Group, one of the world’s best-known textile fiber brands, to display his latest wool fiber designs at the show, which will take place at White Palace in Ho Chi Minh City on Oct 17 and Daewoo Hotel in Hanoi on Oct 19.

The show is part of the project “Vietnam on the road to integration” to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Vietnamese – Australian diplomatic ties.

Inspired by blue waves and radiant sunlight in Paris, Ha’s winning collection for the 2013 Vietnam Project Runway was praised for highlighting “his perfect designing and sewing skills and classic yet striking designs which draw on women’s sensual curves and accentuate their beauty.”

Ha recently had another successful show with his collection “Black rose” during the 2013 Tiffany Fashion Week in Paris.

Ha is also the first Vietnamese designer to have his work featured on the cover of the celebrated Harper’s Bazaar fashion magazine.

Established in 1964, Woolmark Co. and its famous brand are owned by Australian Wool Innovation (AWI), a not-for-profit company owned by more than 25,000 woolgrowers.
