The two-day French Fair 2013, better known as Balade en France 2013, brought the taste of France to local diners in Ho Chi Minh City.

The 4th annual event, organized by French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam, Sopexa - the French agency for international marketing of food, wine and lifestyle and Hotel Equatorial, kicked off on Friday evening at the hotel HCMC’s District 5.

This year’s event, part of the official program to celebrate the 40th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations, is supported of the French Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry and the French Consulate in HCMC.

The event showcased delicious French foods, including Annam Gourmet Raclette, cold cuts and cheese from Rhone valley, roast duck breast with black pepper and honey, crème brulee, homemade cassoulet, and five kinds of wines from different regions in France, like Centre et Loire, Languedoc, and South West region of France.

Besides, French products, like chocolate and coffee, were shown at separate booths on the sideline of the main event so that visitors could taste and buy directly there.

In addition, many entertainment activities were carried out, including live concerts performed by French band Hot Tzigani Project, a fashion show from Hoa Sen University and Mod’Art, a dance show of French Cancan of the Urban Dance Group, and a lucky draw for each day.

The organizing board said the event attracted more than 700 guests on the first day.
