A free mini-concert, set to take place in Ho Chi Minh City this Friday night, September 5, will feature Schlepp Geist, a German icon of minimal house music, along with local DJs and singers.

Heart Beat #9, organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Goethe-Institut, will take place at 8:00 pm at 31B Ly Tu Trong, District 1.

Organizers of the event expect to see participants get lost in the German artist’s sounds for hours.

Vietnamese artist B.A.X will also liven up the concert, which will be nicely wrapped up with a fiery performance by Romanian DJ Drew (Doru Tudose), one of the city’s most-loved DJs.

In his early twenties, Schlepp Geist, who is now 34, became interested in House, Techno and more minimal styles of music.

In 2007 he moved to Berlin and started to take producing much more seriously.

His tracks have been played at clubs and festivals in Germany.

DJ Drew (Doru Tudose) has settled in Ho Chi Minh City after living in both the Netherlands and Hong Kong.

His appearance is a fresh addition to the Vietnamese house and tech-house scene.

Drew has played at countless parties in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and other provinces.
