An exhibit of century-old antiques and works by revered Vietnamese artists is running in Hanoi until Sunday.
The exhibition devoted to the culture of antiques and contemporary paintings is taking place at 628 Hoang Hoa Tham Street, Tay Ho District.
On display are over 300 antiques owned by 15 private collectors. They are made of porcelain, bronze, and terracotta and summarize Vietnam's history.
The exhibit’s highlights are rare artifacts, including a king’s ivory token tablet with intricate carvings.
A collection of containers of lime eaten with betel, which is owned by local artist Nguyen Ngoc Dan, is also on view.
Almost 50 works by renowned Vietnamese artists including Bui Xuan Phai, Nguyen Tu Nghiem, Diep Minh Chau, and Nguyen Dung are also highlights of the exhibit.
According to the organizer, an auction of the artifacts will be held on Saturday.
Part of the auction’s revenue will be used to support soldiers who are guarding the country’s islands and seas.
