Saturday, March 18, 2017, 17:02 GMT+7

The Indian Business Chamber in Vietnam (INCHAM) will hold the Hindu festival of colors, or Holi, in Ho Chi Minh City this Sunday.

Holi is an Indian celebration personified in colors which celebrates many beautiful things, including the arrival of spring, love and the triumph of good over evil, and happiness, INCHAM said in a press release.

Originally known as ‘Holika’ which is celebrated on Phalgun Purnima (the last full moon day of the Hindu Phalguna month), Holi is an ancient religious spring festival celebrated by the Hindus.

The Indian community in Vietnam celebrates the festival in the same spirit as their fellow citizens back home.

In the day, people from all parts of the world join in this celebration by smearing each other with coloured powders and water, enjoying good food, and generating goodwill and affection among all.

As one of annual activities organized by INCHAM, this year’s Holi festival is scheduled for the morning of March 19 at the Wonderland Club Garden in District 7.

Delicious Indian food and drinks, music, dance and games at the event promise to entertain people of all ages.
