World-renowned pop group Westlife announced on its Facebook page on Thursday afternoon that the group will return to Vietnam and perform in Hanoi on June 4 and 5.

“Hanoi, VIETNAM! We’re so excited to announce that we’ll be coming to see you guys on the 4th and 5th June. Tickets are on sale Monday 13th May,” the post said.

Due to Mark Feehily's health problems, only three Westlife members -- Shane Filan, Kian Egan, and Nicky Byrne -- will perform in Hanoi, Thanh Nien (Young People) newspaper reported.

The two-night live concert, part of the band’s The Hits Tour, will take place at My Dinh Indoor Athletics Arena.

Westlife has announced only two desinations -- Vietnam and Malaysia -- for The Hits Tour.

British band 911 will be a guest of the concert in Hanoi. 911 has also performed in Vietnam for several times.

Westlife’s announcement has thrilled Vietnamese fans with thousands of netizens leaving reactions and comments below the post.

Last year, Westlife's announcement of a two-night live concert at Thong Nhat Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City in November sparked a frenzy for tickets.

Initially, the Irish band had said they would perform for just one night in the city.

Over 15,000 tickets were sold out within only four hours. As a result, the organizer worked with the pop group to extend their concert in Vietnam to two nights.

The organizer also had to offer more standing-room tickets.

Westlife was formed in Dublin, Ireland in 1998. The band consists of Shane Filan, Mark Feehily, Kian Egan, and Nicky Byrne. Brian McFadden, a member of the band, left in 2004.

The group disbanded in 2012 but reunited in 2018.

Westlife became popular with Vietnamese audiences in the 1990s and 2000s.

The group traveled to Vietnam for the first time to perform at My Dinh Stadium in Hanoi in 2011, as part of their Westlife Gravity Tour.

Two years later, singer Shane Filan, Westlife's main vocalist, came to Ho Chi Minh City to perform at the You & Me Tour Live in Saigon show at 7 Nguyen Tat Thanh Street in District 4.

In 2017, Filan made a comeback to Vietnam for his Love Always Tour and sang at a stadium in Ho Chi Minh City.

The band has sold 55 million records worldwide and holds four Guinness World Records.

Among their greatest hits are My Love, I Lay My Love on You, Queen of My Heart, Seasons in the Sun, Mandy, Fool Again, Swear it Again, and When You Tell Me That You Love Me.
