Visiting Vice President of Venezuela Elias Jose Jaua Milano on Thursday affirmed his country’s commitment to facilitate the operation of joint oil, gas, and agricultural projects with Vietnam.

The guest’s confirmation was given during a meeting between him and Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, who pointed out difficulties Vietnamese investors, particularly in the oil and gas industry, are facing in Venezuela.

The vice president told PM Dung that President Nicolás Maduro has given directions for the clearing of obstacles in oil and gas cooperation between Vietnam and Venezuela.

PM Dung assured his guest that Vietnam is determined to make more investments in oil and gas in the South American country. He also called on Caracas to give support for an energy-saving light production project.

In response to the Venezuelan vice president’s wish to set up an agriculture partnership between the two countries in the future, PM Dung said Vietnam fully supports the South American country in terms of such a partnership.

Meanwhile, the guest said that the two sides reached a consensus on re-launching many important joint projects at a recent meeting between their officials.
