Vietnam encourages Indonesian enterprises to expand their investment in its market, Chairman of the lawmaking National Assembly (NA) Vuong Dinh Hue said during a meeting with the leaders of major Indonesian groups in Jakarta on Saturday as part of his ongoing visit to Indonesia.
Among them were Ciputra Group, travel firm Traveloka, and Modena Group, which are doing business in Vietnam.
At the meeting with Ciputra Group managing director Budiarsa Sastrawinata, Chairman Hue appreciated the group’s huge investment in Vietnam, with a total capital of some US$3 billion.
The top Vietnamese legislator expected the diversified property group to expand its operation in other fields in Vietnam.
In response to the group’s proposals, Hue said that he would work with relevant agencies to remove all obstacles facing Ciputra Group.

NA Chairman Hue told Michael Jizhar, executive vice-president of Modena, that the group should promptly develop a household appliance and equipment production plant in Vietnam to meet the rising demand of Vietnamese people and other neighboring nations.
He underlined that Vietnam is attaching much importance to renewable energy, being committed to reaching a net-zero carbon emissions target by 2050.
Jizhar said that Modena considers building a household appliance manufacturing factory in Vietnam, hoping that it will tap the renewable energy and electric vehicle production fields in the country.
During talks with a representative of Traveloka, NA Chairman Hue said that tourism is one of Vietnam’s spearhead sectors, so the lawmaking National Assembly has amended some regulations associated with the industry.
Notably, visa rules have been eased to spur tourism, he stressed.
The Vietnamese legislature and government always create favorable conditions for enterprises to flourish in Vietnam, he said.
The Traveloka representative thanked the National Assembly for revising multiple articles of the law on immigration, entry, and exit of foreigners and easing visa restrictions to back tourism.
The representative affirmed that Traveloka will boost cooperation in Vietnam to introduce various tourist destinations on its platform to attract foreign visitors.
