Raining season in the southern Vietnam is forecast to come in earlier, by late this month while the central region may only have it in July, said Bui Minh Tang – director of the National Center for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting.

It means the dry season in the south may come to an end in one to two weeks.

The rainfall this year may be higher than the average level of previous years.

The spell of big rains may appear from May to July in the northern region and by late August in the central region, especially the Central Highlands.

From now till May, localities should work out preventative measures against hail and windy storm. After May, those weather phenomena will be replaced by tropical low pressures, typhoon, flashflood, and big rains.

According to the center, around 12-13 typhoons and tropical low pressures will be brewing up on the East Sea, half of which may directly affect Vietnam.

In general, the weather and climatic conditions in Vietnam will see complicated happenings in 2013.
