-- Lawmakers discussed Tuesday the draft Law on amendments and supplements to the Law on Fire Prevention and Fighting and Article 170 of the Enterprise Law during their fifth sitting of the 13th National Assembly.

-- A meeting between General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong and his Indian counterpart Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy  was held Tuesday to tighten the ties between the two Communist parties.

-- France wishes to contribute its advanced technical expertise to the development of urban railway systems in Vietnam, especially in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Fabrice Mauries, Consul General of France in Ho Chi Minh City, said at a seminar with leading Vietnamese and French experts in rail transport and urban planning on Tuesday.

-- Phan Van Tho, 24, and Nguyen Van Minh Trung, 19, were Tuesday caught as they stole a bag from Lim Lian Ui, a Singaporean tourist, on Ly Thuong Kiet Street. The two were detained by police while the stolen assets, including an iPhone, and iPad, and VND4 million, were returned to the victim.

-- Police found Tuesday the corpse of Nguyen Thanh Yen, 28, who killed his girlfriend on Monday and committed suicide by jumping into the Tac River in District 9.

-- A conference organized by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) took place on Tuesday in Ha Noi to discuss on a project to renovate the social assistance system in Viet Nam.
