A high school math teacher in Ho Chi Minh City has been stabbed to death in the middle of a street allegedly by her colleague, who was also her fiancé, over their love affairs.
The victim, 26-year-old N.T.T., taught math at Vo Thi Sau High School in Binh Thanh District, the district’s police unit confirmed on Monday afternoon.
The suspect, 27-year-old Vo Minh Thang, who is a physical education teacher at the same school, is being held in custody for murder.
According to initial information, T. was riding her motorbike along Truong Sa Street on Monday morning when she was forced to pull over by Thang.
Their conversation quickly turned into an argument, before Thang stabbed the female teacher to death and fled the scene.

Following reports from local residents, police officers arrived at the scene and found T.’s body on the sidewalk with 12 stab wounds, 10 of which were in her neck.
Thang turned himself in later the same day, claiming he had murdered the woman due to conflicts in their romantic relationship.
According to Le Van Phuoc, principal of Vo Thi Sau High School, Thang has been teaching at the institution for two years, while T. started working here about a year ago.
“They are both good teachers, kind and friendly to others. We are very shocked to hear about the incident,” Phuoc continued.

The two have been in love and were supposed to get married on April 25.
However, T. postponed the wedding after discovering some secrets about Thang during the photo shoot of their pre-wedding album, the headmaster stated.
Prior to the murder, T. and Thang were in charge of supervising students during their examinations.
They got into an argument before leaving the school, Phuoc added.
Further investigation is ongoing.
