Two people were killed and ten others injured in a road accident in northern Vietnam on Tuesday.

The crash happened at around 9:00 am along the section of National Highway 39 in Minh Tan Commune, Dong Hung District, Thai Binh Province.

Preliminary information showed that a coach operated by Hien Tam Bus Line, carrying 39 passengers, was running on the Thai Binh-Thai Nguyen route when it hit a woman traveling on an electric bicycle in the opposite direction.

The bus then collided with a car, also traveling in the opposite direction, before both vehicles went off the road.

Nguyen Thi Ngung, the 63-year-old cyclist, and Nguyen Minh Hai, 43, who was driving the automobile, were killed at the scene, according to Cong an nhan dan, a news outlet managed by the Ministry of Public Security.

Ten people on board the passenger bus suffered minor injuries and were given on-the-spot first aid treatment.

The electric motorbike and car were heavily damaged, while the coach had its front distorted following the accident.

Competent agencies have launched an investigation to figure out the cause of the crash and find out those responsible.
