Police from Vietnam's Mekong Delta province of An Giang have launched an investigation into a stabbing that led them to detain a local female gang member.
According to preliminary information, a group of young adults, aged from 21 to 30, including Huynh Thi Bich Hanh, Huynh Quoc Viet, Nguyen Ngoc Son (aka Cuoi), were together with some unidentified gangsters at a drinking party at the MD karaoke bar on Pham Cu Luong Street in the provincial capital city of Long Xuyen on Sunday afternoon.
After some had left the party at around 4:00 pm, Hanh, Son, and Viet had a quarrel before escalating it into throwing glasses at each other.
In an intensifying rage, Hanh chased after Viet with a knife.
As they reached the front of the karaoke bar, Viet was stabbed in the left side of his chest and was rushed to the emergency room in the General Hospital of An Giang Province, where he was reported being in a critical condition.
Upon receiving the case information, local police rushed to the scene to arrest Hanh, conduct scene investigation, and took people involved for initial testimony.
Further investigation is ongoing.
