A landslide killed two women and seriously injured two men in Lam Dong Province, situated in Vietnam's Central Highlands, on Wednesday afternoon.

The landslide occurred in the Ho Hong area of Lam Dong’s Da Lat City at around 2:00 pm on Wednesday, when the four victims were taking shelter from rain in a shed below a slope.

Nguyen Thi Trang Dai, 30, and Tran Thi Bich Huyen, 18, both residents of Da Lat, were killed immediately.

Khong Minh Phuoc, 31, a Da Lat resident, and Nguyen Van Cang, 22, hailing from the neighboring province of Dak Lak, were hospitalized with severe injuries.

The landslide followed heavy rains.

There was no man-made infrastructure holding the slope in place.
