Vietnamese authorities, supported by the UK’s National Crime Agency at the request of police from Scotland, arrested a 77-year-old man in connection with non-recent sexual offenses against children under an Interpol Red Notice on Tuesday, the British Embassy in Vietnam announced on its verified Facebook page a day later.

Arrangements are underway to transport the man, Kenneth Divers, back to Scotland.

Divers, a former teacher at a secondary school, is set to appear in court in the coming days, according to Daily Record’s sources.

Scottish and European warrants for his arrest were issued in 2016 after he was accused of carrying out a string of sex attacks on young boys in the 1960s and 1970s, Daily Record reported.

“We are grateful to the authorities in Vietnam and our colleagues at the National Crime Agency for their assistance with this matter,” the British Embassy in Vietnam quoted Detective Superintendent Alan Henderson.
