-- Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his hope to advance the relations between Vietnam and Astrazeneca PLC toward strategic cooperation in vaccine and drug production during his reception for CEO Pascal Soriot in Hanoi on Tuesday.

-- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has appointed Nguyen Thi Lien Huong, head of the Vietnam Health Environment Management Agency under the Ministry of Health, as new Deputy Minister of Health.

-- Police in northernmost Ha Giang Province on Tuesday arrested and initiated legal proceedings against Dang Van Thuy, deputy director of the provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment, on suspicion of bribe acceptance.

-- A truck crashed into the sidewalk of a road and broke the medium-voltage pylon in La Nga Commune, Dinh Quan District, southern Dong Nai Province, causing nearly 4,000 households to suffer power outages for several hours on Tuesday, Dong Nai Power Company said.

-- Hot weather is in the forecast for north-central Thanh Hoa to south-central Phu Yen Provinces between Wednesday and Thursday, before spreading to the northern midland and delta regions from Friday to Sunday, according to the National Center for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting.

Business

-- Gasoline prices in Vietnam are forecast to increase by another VND1,000 per liter in the price adjustment session on Wednesday. (US$1 = VND23,190)

-- Vietnam Airlines has divested a 35 percent stake in Cambodia Angkor Air, so the Cambodian airline is no longer an affiliated company of the Vietnamese flag carrier, which announced the sale on the website of the State Securities Commission.

-- An international school in Ho Chi Minh City that has garnered a lot of attention on social media for the past days over a fight involving some of its students said in its report to the municipal education department that results from its interviews with related students, security camera footage, and mobile phone videos of the incident showed that the information being spread widely online is different from the truth.
