Dense smog engulfed many inner-city streets in Hanoi on Monday morning, forcing residents to turn on their vehicles’ lights in the daytime due to poor visibility.
However, the air quality became good at 8:00 am in the day in some downtown locations such as Kim Lien Kindergarten in Dong Da District, Tay Mo Street in Nam Tu Liem District, Bach Dang Kindergarten and the Hoang Van Thu Ward People’s Committee headquarters in Hai Ba Trung District, according to the Hanoi air quality monitoring portal.

At some air quality monitoring stations operated by the Northern Center for Environmental Monitoring, the air quality in most northern localities was moderate to good as of 8:00 am.
According to the national weather center, Hanoi may see lows of 22-24 degrees Celsius and highs of 28-30 degrees Celsius on Monday.
It will be cloudy plus light rain and fog in the morning, with patchy rain and sunshine forecast for the afternoon. Also, the capital city is expected to experience southeast winds of level 2-3.
