-- Doctors at Nhi Dong 2 Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City said on Wednesday that they had successfully saved an eight-year-old patient suffering from liver failure due to an overdose of antipyretic medications. His liver enzymes were more than 300 times the normal level.

-- Police in Ho Chi Minh City are investigating a case of suspected child abuse after a two-year-old boy was admitted to the hospital with head trauma, a fractured arm, and multiple burns and wounds on his body.

-- A private kindergarten facility in Hanoi was forced to close on Wednesday following the hospitalization of a three-year-old child with a suspected abuse-related broken left tibia two months earlier.


­-- The first-ever hot-air balloon festival in Binh Dinh Province, south-central Vietnam, is expected to take place from April 24 to May 5 as an effort to lure tourists to the locality.

-- A record for 'The first book in Vietnam to introduce Asian tattoo art in both English and Vietnamese' was set on Wednesday by the Vietnam record organization Vietkings for Trung Tadashi's book Enchantment from Tattoo Art.
