-- Doctors at Nhi Dong 2 Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City said on Wednesday that they had successfully saved an eight-year-old patient suffering from liver failure due to an overdose of antipyretic medications. His liver enzymes were more than 300 times the normal level.

-- Police in Ho Chi Minh City are investigating a case of suspected child abuse after a two-year-old boy was admitted to the hospital with head trauma, a fractured arm, and multiple burns and wounds on his body.

-- A private kindergarten facility in Hanoi was forced to close on Wednesday following the hospitalization of a three-year-old child with a suspected abuse-related broken left tibia two months earlier.
