-- Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Petr Fiala will pay an official visit to Vietnam from Thursday to Saturday at the invitation of Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
-- Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh welcomed the first visit to Vietnam by Austrian Federal Minister for European and International Affairs Alexander Schallenberg during a reception for the latter in Hanoi on Monday. This is the first visit to Vietnam by an Austrian federal minister for European and international affairs after 50 years.
-- Vietnamese State President Vo Van Thuong hosted a reception in Hanoi on Monday for ASEAN ambassadors who came to congratulate him on being elected as the Vietnamese head of state, the Vietnam News Agency reported.

-- The expected completion of Ho Chi Minh City’s second metro line project has been delayed to 2030 from 2026, according to a decision signed by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang. The route linking Ben Thanh Market in District 1 and Tham Luong Depot in District 12 was kicked off in 2010 and has been executed at a snail’s pace.
-- Police in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak on Monday raided 12 branches of the F88 pawnshop chain in the province to assess their compliance with laws on business operations. Similar checks were earlier conducted in Ho Chi Minh City, central Da Nang City and Quang Nam Province, and southern Can Tho City and Tien Giang Province, among others.
-- The principal of an elementary and middle school in Hoa Binh Province, northern Vietnam has been arrested for sexually harassing two 15-year-old students at his office in school time.
-- Authorities in Son Tra District of Da Nang City on Monday began dismantling 58 illegally-built business establishments on Son Tra Peninsula in the district.
-- The Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Dong Nai Province, a neighbor of Ho Chi Minh City, has launched inspections into the environmental protection at over 9,800 livestock facilities in the province. The inspections will last until July 15.
