Dozens of police officers in Ho Chi Minh City gathered at the headquarters of Shinhan Vietnam Finance Company in District 1, a unit of South Korea’s Shinhan Card, on Friday to check its lending operations.
The examination is part of an investigation into numerous financial firms operating in the city, according to a police officer on duty at the scene.
The police requested the employees of the company to halt their operations temporarily during Friday’s inspection, whose details are still undisclosed.

Shinhan Vietnam Finance Co. Ltd., a member of South Korea-based Shinhan Card, which is a fully foreign-owned consumer finance company previously named Prudential Vietnam Finance Company, has officially operated under the Shinhan Finance brand name since July 2019, according to the company’s website.
Its services include personal loan, auto loan, and credit card.
Its headquarters is located on the 23rd Floor of Saigon Trade Center at 37 Ton Duc Thang Street in Ben Nghe Ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.
