-- The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting predicts that starting Thursday, a strong cold front will move into Vietnam, leading to a sharp drop in temperatures across the north and central regions. Some areas will experience extremely cold conditions, with Hanoi’s mercury expected to reach as low as 10 degrees Celsius and the mountainous regions below five degrees Celsius.
-- The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health announced on Tuesday that the human metapneumovirus (HMPV) currently spreading in China is not a new variant. It is one of the pathogens responsible for respiratory infections in children having been reported in Ho Chi Minh City in both 2023 and 2024.
-- Police in Phu Yen Province, south-central Vietnam announced on Tuesday that they have dismantled a loan sharking and online betting ring valued at over VND100 billion (US$3.04 million).
-- The Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens in downtown Ho Chi Minh City has dismissed rumors circulating on social media that it feeds crocodiles with stray cats.
-- In 2024, 41 families in Vietnam agreed to donate the organs of their relatives after brain death, according to the National Coordinating Center for Human Organ Transplantation.
-- The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee has issued a directive calling for strengthened pollution control and improved environmental quality in the area bordering Binh Duong Province.

-- Vietnam SuperPort on Tuesday signed a strategic memorandum of understanding with the Transport Development and Strategy Institute under the Ministry of Transport of Vietnam and China Railway 16th Bureau Group Vietnam Co. Ltd., part of China Railway Construction Corporation, on cooperation to develop rail logistics infrastructure.
-- Nguyen Thi Le Thanh, director of the Department of Tourism of Khanh Hoa Province, announced on Tuesday that the south-central Vietnamese province is targeting 5.2 million international visitors in 2025.
-- Nguyen Van Phuoc, director of the Ho Chi Minh City-based Tri Viet Publishing House, registered as First News Co. Ltd, said on Tuesday that the company is preparing to sue the e-commerce platform Shopee Vietnam for the sale of counterfeit and pirated books.
