A fire destroyed a wind turbine, causing one of its three blades to fall off in Binh Thuan Province, south-central Vietnam on Wednesday.
The wind turbine, with a power-generating capacity of 1.5 megawatts, burst into flames in the morning.
A massive blade tumbled off the turbine shortly afterward.
The structure is one of 20 turbines belonging to the first phase of a wind power project in Tuy Phong District, Binh Thuan Province.
Authorities promptly implemented firefighting efforts and are cooperating with the investor of the project to identify the cause of the blaze.
Neither injuries nor damage to nearby property was reported aside from the turbine itself losing a blade.
In January 2020, another wind turbine in the same plant caught fire, causing VND70 billion (US$2.9 million) in damage.
