A group of motorcycle riders caused a major scene near the Cat Lai Ferry in Dong Nai Province, southern Vietnam when they insisted on jumping the line to the ferry and jostling their way to the front.
A video of the case has made headlines on social media and sparked public concerns earlier this week.
The situation unfolded at the port in Nhon Trach District, Dong Nai Province on Sunday afternoon, according to a representative of the ferry management unit.
The Cat Lai Ferry connects Ho Chi Minh City with Dong Nai Province via the Saigon River.
The incident occurred when a group of six motorcyclists insisted on driving on the wrong side of the road in order to jump the line. Several people waiting in line underlined that the group follow the rules, eventually leading to a clash.
Staff at the ferry had to restrain the two sides.
Many people often try to jump the queue but the ticket sellers refuse to sell tickets in such cases, said the representative.
Police in Nhon Trach District are investigating the case, the local People’s Committee announced on Wednesday.
