-- Both Vietnam and China attach great importance to their bilateral relations and consider the relationship with the other as a priority in their foreign policy, Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his Chinese counterpart Li Qiang said during their talks in China on Saturday on the occasion of the Vietnamese government leader’s attendance at the 20th China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) and China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (CABIS) on Saturday and Sunday.

-- The administration of Thanh Xuan District, Hanoi on Saturday fined a welder VND12.5 million (US$515.4) for unintentionally causing a fire at an under-construction six-floor housing project on the same day. The fire caused no casualties.

-- Nghe An Province in north-central Vietnam has scrapped a requirement banning residents of apartment buildings and blocks from charging electric vehicles in the basements of these buildings, a day after issuing the requirement as it caused a backlash.

-- Ho Chi Minh City plans to charge fees for the use of roadbeds and sidewalks in the metropolis from January 1 next year, according to a statement that the municipal Department of Transport submitted to the People’s Committee.

Business

-- Two major Chinese groups, including China Railway Group Limited and Power China, expressed their interest in getting involved in projects in Vietnam during their meetings with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in China on Saturday.

-- An under-construction factory worth $1 billion of Danish toy manufacturer LEGO Group in southern Binh Duong Province planned to begin recruiting 100 laborers late this year and 400 in 2024 so that it could start operating in the second half of next year, LEGO Group Vice President Preben Elnef said.

-- Ha Long Bay - Cat Ba Archipelago in Quang Ninh Province and neighboring Hai Phong City in northern Vietnam was officially recognized as UNESCO world natural heritage on Saturday night (Vietnam time).

-- A plane crash in Brazil's northern Amazon state on Saturday has left 14 dead, Reuters reported, citing the state's governor.
