-- Dinh Tien Dung, Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, paid a courtesy call to Wang Huning, a member of the Politburo Standing Committee and Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, in Beijing on Thursday, according to the Vietnam News Agency.

-- Vietnam is a central part of US$1.7 billion Indo-Pacific Strategy that Canada has been implementing, the Vietnam News Agency cited Canadian Associate Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Cindy Termorshuizen as saying.

-- The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health said on Thursday that it would try managing and treating depression and anxiety disorder patients at local health stations and the community, with support from the World Health Organization.

-- A 50-year-old man died suspectedly of anaphylactic shock on Wednesday in Gia Lai Province, located in Vietnam's Central Highlands, after taking pills he bought from a pharmacy to treat his own eye diseases, a local hospital said on Thursday.

-- A court in Binh Phuoc Province, southern Vietnam on Thursday sentenced two Vietnamese and one Cambodian to death for trafficking drugs from Cambodia to Vietnam.

-- The Department of Health in Quang Nam Province, central Vietnam has submitted the provincial People's Committee a proposal on fining Banh Mi Phuong, a famed local bakery, VND110.5 million ($4,538) and suspending it for five months after more than 300 people suffered food poisoning after eating banh mi there earlier this month.

-- Vietnam's agricultural exports generated $38.48 billion revenue in January-September, down 5.1 percent year on year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
