The Hanoi Medical University Hospital has proposed converting Hanoi’s biggest COVID-19 field hospital into a public healthcare facility to better serve the city’s residents.
The COVID-19 field hospital is located on Tam Trinh Street in Yen So Ward under Hoang Mai District.
A representative of the Hanoi Medical University Hospital, which had been in charge of running the field hospital, told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper on Monday that the field hospital shut down in February when the COVID-19 pandemic was considered to have stabilized and the number of critical COVID-19-infected patients dropped drastically.
As the field hospital’s infrastructure remains in good condition, the Hanoi Medical University Hospital proposed converting it into a public health facility.
The field hospital is currently undergoing renovations so that it can carry out standard medical treatments, said the representative.
Responding to complaints about rubbish scattered along the field hospital’s entranceway, the representative said that the hospital is working with authorities in the district to deal with illegal dumping.
The People’s Committee of Yen So Ward has repeatedly asked relevant agencies to clean up the path leading to the field hospital, according an official from the ward.
