Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien, Miss Grand International 2021, denied involvement in a prostitution ring following the spread of photos of her and the mastermind of such prostitution ring on social media.

Tien wrote on her social media that speculations about her implication in a large prostitution ring led by make-up artist Huynh Thanh Thuan were baseless and those spreading the news had intentionally manipulated the public.

She added that the Criminal Police Department under the Ministry of Public Security had earlier announced that she was not related to the ring.

Early this month, the Criminal Police Department said it had launched legal proceedings against Thuan.

Photos of Tien and Thuan then spread on social media, prompting speculation that she might be involved in Thuan’s ring.

Tien explained that Thuan was a make-up artist so he worked with many celebrities, including her.

She added that her management company had worked with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Information and Communications to cope with the cyber-bullying targeted at her.

She expected the public's trust, given the contributions and achievements she has obtained and what she would do in the future, the beauty queen added.

Thuy Tien was crowned Miss Grand International 2021 at the pageant’s finale in Bangkok, Thailand, becoming the first Vietnamese to win the title.
