Dong Nai Province, a neighbor of Ho Chi Minh City, has broken ground on three road projects at a total cost of over VND2 trillion (US$82 million) to connect with Beltway No. 3 in the city, Long Thanh International Airport under construction in the province, and Phuoc An Port.
The administration in Nhon Trach District under the province on Saturday organized a groundbreaking ceremony for the three key projects, including 25C Road, Ton Duc Thang Street, and the extended Le Hong Phong Road.
The 6.4-kilometer-long 25C Road is set to start at the intersection with Hung Vuong Street and end at the interchange with Nguyen Huu Canh Street.
Work on the road, which carries a price tag of nearly VND1.3 trillion ($51.9 million), is slated to finish in 730 days.
Upon completion, the Ton Duc Thang road project will be some 3.8 kilometers in length, stretching from the heart of Nhon Trach District to Quach Thi Trang Street, with a total investment of some VND639 billion ($26.2 million).
The road will be linked with Beltway No. 3, which is under construction in Ho Chi Minh City, and with the traffic system in the south's key economic zone.
Meanwhile, the extended Le Hong Phong Street will be built in 540 days at a total cost of VND216 billion ($8.9 million). Its ending point will meet with a road leading to Phuoc An Port in Dong Nai.

Dao Minh Tam, director of the Nhon Trach District project management board, said that when in place, these roads will connect with the locale’s key routes leading to Beltway No. 3, Phuoc An Port, and the big-ticket underway Long Thanh International Airport.
The development of these roads will enhance the transportation of goods and the mobility of residents, contributing to the establishment of a well-structured traffic infrastructure within the district. This, in turn, is expected to catalyze socio-economic growth in the region.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the three roads took place as a result of Nhon Trach District authorities’ efforts in speeding up all relevant procedures and the site clearance process.
Vo Tan Duc, acting chairman of the Dong Nai administration, lauded Nhon Trach District for its huge potential for economic development.
The district will continue to act as the province’s major magnet for local and international investors.
Duc emphasized that the three roads play a key role in connecting the seaport and the Long Thanh international airport.
