-- The border station at Moc Bai International Border Gate in Tay Ninh Province, southern Vietnam on Tuesday reported its recent collaboration with the local police to receive six individuals from the General Department of Immigration of Cambodia. Upon verification, two of these individuals were identified as wanted murder suspects.

-- The Hanoi Department of Transport has suggested implementing a pilot program substituting conventional buses used for nine public bus routes with electric vehicles.

-- A high-speed boat service from Nha Be District in Ho Chi Minh City to Con Dao Island off southern Ba Ria-Vung Province, covering a one-way journey time of approximately five hours over a distance of about 230km, is set to commence on February 23, with the initial trip anticipated to transport over 1,000 passengers.

-- Police in Yen Dinh District, Thanh Hoa Province, north-central Vietnam on Tuesday announced the temporary detention of a suspect implicated in the illegal trade of three firearms and more than 800 components.

-- A student from central Thua Thien-Hue Province on Tuesday returned nearly VND88 million (US$3,611) he had discovered in a black plastic bag to its rightful owner.


-- The APAX Leaders English-language center system on Tuesday announced a temporary suspension of in-person teaching activities at its venues in Ho Chi Minh City, blaming financial challenges and parents’ disruptive behaviors. Additionally, the chain has continued a deferment of tuition refunds.


-- An annual book festival will be organized on Le Loi Boulevard in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City from 5:00 pm on February 7 through February 14 in celebration of the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday, the municipal Department of Information and Communications said on Tuesday.

-- A vegetarian food festival is slated for Gia Dinh Park in Phu Nhuan District, Ho Chi Minh City from Friday through Sunday, anticipating a daily attendance of 10,000 visitors.


-- LaLiga Academy Vietnam, established in late 2021, is conducting a Vietnamese coach training program from Wednesday through Friday, aligning with a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and LaLiga, Spain’s top men’s professional football division, last September.

-- Vietnamese athletes Pham Quang Huy and Trinh Thu Vinh won the gold medal in the 10m air pistol mixed team event at the Asian Rifle/Pistol Championship 2024 in Indonesia on Tuesday.
